The Ionia Standard, Thursday, September 29, 1881

John Fogarty was driving home last Saturday about noon with some five hundred 
feet of lumber on his wagon, when by some means he fell off the load, and it 
is supposed that the hind wheel of the wagon passed over him. Dr. Robbins saw 
him in the night and he appeared quite comfortable, but complained of a pain 
across the bowels presumably where the wheel ran over him.  He died early 
Sunday.
