Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, Jan. 18, 1900

                      Another Pioneer Gone to Her Rest.

Mrs. Jane Follet, an aged pioneer and resident of Ionia county for the last 
sixty-five years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lorenda Prosser and 
grand-daughter, Mrs. Parmeter, 745 Harrison street, Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.

The greater part of this time she lived in Keene township where she is best 
known. She was born in Ireland, March 12, 1805, and was at the time of her 
death, 94 years, 9 months and 28 days old. She seemingly enjoyed unusually good 
health until last Saturday, when she was suddenly stricken, her strength 
failing rapidly, and on Wednesday afternoon she fell asleep - in Jesus. 

Mrs. Follet was a devout Christian, having been converted a great many years 
ago, and was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church for the last 25 or 30 
years. 

She was married in 1830 to John Follet, who died in 1881. The union was blessed 
with six children, five of whom are still living. They together with the 
grandchildren and great grandchildren fell their loss keenly; especially is 
this case with Mrs. Prosser and her daughter and children at whose home she had 
resided for some time. 

But their loss is her eternal gain, for, "Blessed are the dead who die in the 
Lord from henceforth, yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their 
labors, and their works do follow them." Rev. 14: 13.

The funeral was held from the Evangelical church, Saturday at 10 a.m., Rev. 
Geo. Koehler preaching. Interment in White's cemetery at Saranac.
