Ionia County Shopper's Guide, 16 Oct 2004

Patricia Marie Fonger, age 54, of Lowell, passed away October 5, 2004.  Pat will
be remembered as a loving mother, devoted friend, and lover of life.  Pat worked
for the United States Post Office for almost 30 years, beginning her career
walking about Lowell delivering the mail.  She later became the Postmaster of
the Saranac facility.  Pat was an avid card player including Bridge, Euchre and
Texas Holdem.  Pat also loved her golf game and celebrating life with friends
and family.  She is survived by her dedicated daughter, Angie (Randy) Carlson;
mother, Dorothy Byrne; sisters: Fran (Dale) Tolger, Betsy (John) Rinard, Barb
Schneider; brother, Mel Byrne; surrogate daughter, Jill Bruinekool.  Pat will be
sadly missed by her special companion, Cynda Sue.  There are many other close
friends, nieces, nephews, co-workers and just about everyone in Lowell and
Saranac who knew and loved her.  Her laughter will be missed by those in her
life.  Pat was preceded in death by her father, Alfred; brother-in-law, Philip
H. Schneider III; and close companion, Tony Stormzand.  Funeral services were
held Friday, October 8.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity
of one’s choice or the Kent County Humane Society.
