The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, September 27, 1947

Mrs. Alice E. Font, 68, wife of William Font, died at her home on 531 State 
street Friday morning at 7:50 o’clock.  She was born in Branch county October 
26, 1878, and has been an Ionia county resident for 45 years.

Surviving her besides her husband, William, are three daughters, Mrs. Inez 
Misner of Ionia, Mrs. Alma Martenies of Saranac and Mrs. Althea Browns of 
Portland; one sons, Jack Font of Ionia; several grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; and two brothers, Morton Underhill of Howard City and Vern 
Underhill of Lansing.

Funeral services will be held from the Bradley funeral home Tuesday afternoon 
at 2:30 o’clock with the Rev. A. R. Kuehn officiating.  Interment will be in 
the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
