Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Feb 1994

Ionia - Alfred W. Font, 90 formerly of Ionia, died Feb. 11, 1994, in Lowell.  He
was born the son of Bert and Mary (Wilson) Font in Fenwick on Aug. 18, 1903. 

Mr. Font worked at the Sentinel-Standard for over 20 years and retired from the
Forest Hills School System as a janitor.  He was a member of the Clarksville
Bible Church and he attended the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Ionia.

Surviving are two daughters, Doris Kennedy and Joan Woodard both of
Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.  He was
preceded in death by his two wives, Mary in 1965 and Ruth.   

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rich St. Chapel.  Funeral
and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cook Funeral Home,
Ionia with the Rev. Don Mathis of the Clarksville Bible Church officiating. 
Internment will be at the Balcom Cemetery in the spring.
