Ionia Sentinel Standard, 25 Jun 1983

Jack W. Font, Sr., 67, Ionia died late Thursday evening in Grand Rapids at the
Osteopathic Hospital.  He was born in Ionia on July 24, 1915, the son of George
and Alice Underhill Font.  He attended school in the Ionia area and lived his
entire life in this area.  He was married to Nadeane Sooter? in Ionia on August
11, 1945.  Hey made their home in Ionia moving to their present residence in 1969.

He had served in the United States Army during World War II.  He then worked for
the William-Morris Construction Company, also at Vincent’s Greenhouse and then
started working for the City of Ionia in 1960.  He retired in 1974.  He was a
former member of the Ionia Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Nadeane; three sons: Jack Jr., Ionia, Gary and
Phillip both at home; two daughters: Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Danson, Belmont,
Arizona and Mrs. Phil (Janice) White, Benson, Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 1
great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home
with the Rev. John Sorensen of the First United Methodist Church officiating. 
Burial will be in the Easton Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home,
Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
