Jack W. Font Jr., aged 69, of Ionia passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in 
Ionia. He was born November 2, 1936 in Ionia the son of Jack W. and Marilyn 
(Miller) Font Sr. He married Valerie Capen August 16, 1958 in Bedford, Mass. 
Jack worked as a corrections officer from 1964 to 1990. He also was a city 
police officer during Clarence Aldridge's time as police chief. He was a past 
member of Ionia Moose Lodge.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Valerie Font of Ionia; 
children, Mark and Michele Font of Cleveland, Ohio, Pamela and Rick Miller of 
Ionia; Troy and Terrie Font of DeWitt; brother Phil and Pat Font of Six Lakes; 
sisters Pat and Mike Dawson of Portland and Jan and Dan Greene of Arizona; 
grandchildren Nikki, Jack, Sarah, Jessica, Zachary, Nicholas and Eric. He was 
preceded in death by his parents, his step father Frank Misner and brother 
Gary Font.

At Jack's request there will be private funeral services. Arrangements by Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution in 
Jack's name to Ionia Area Hospice.
