Foreman was the victim of a sad and fatal accident Wednesday afternoon. He was near the crossing of the two railroads, when the afternoon passenger from the east on the D., L.&N. railroad came in. The train stopped before crossing the D., G.H.&M. railway track and was going very slowly. Foreman attempted to jump on and fell under the wheels. He was cut in two near the middle of his body, and of course killed instantly. The snow has been shoveled out both sides of the track, and is heaped up several feet high. The continual passing of trains and escape of steam has made these banks very slippery, and there is little doubt but the unfortunate man slipped just as he reached for the platform of the car. He was a young man, about twenty, son of Charles Foreman of this city.
