The child was Howard Harzey Forest, son of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Forest, of 314 Sober St., Ionia. According to Deputy Sheriff Arthur Randall, who investigated, the child drank from a bottle of turpentine that had been used in the home for cleaning purposes. He had consumed nearly a pint of the liquid before it was noticed by his parents. The child was rushed to the Ionia community hospital where efforts to save its life by pumping its stomach proved in vain. Death occurred at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. There are four other children in the family. Coroner Harry Myers, who also investigated, said no inquest would be held. Funeral services are to be held from the Myers Funeral home at 2 p.m., Friday, with the Rev. Adam Westmass officiating. Burial will be in Sunny Hill cemetery, Palo.
