Richard ""Dick"" E. Fosburg, 81, of Ionia, Mich., passed away on Monday, Dec. 
30, 2013.  He was born on Feb. 12, 1932, in Ionia County, Mich., the son of Roy 
and Ruth (Badder) Fosburg.  

Mr. Fosburg was a lifelong farmer in Orange Township, and was also a lifelong 
musician.  Dick taught countless children drum lessons, was an original member 
of the Ionia Community Band, and was a percussionist in several bands around 
the state.  

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Carol; son, David.  Surviving 
are his children, Douglas Fosburg, and Linn (Tom) Plett, both of Ionia; 
grandchildren, Tim (Carrie) Plett, U.S.A.F., Adam, Samuel and Thomas Plett of 
Ionia; great grandchildren, Kylie and Titus Plett; sister, Janice Corbett.  

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at LeValley 
United Methodist Church, Ionia, with Pastor Ray Sundell presiding.  Interment 
will take place in the spring at Tuttle Cemetery.  The family will receive 
friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St., 
Ionia.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the 
Commission on Aging, or to LeValley United Methodist Church, in memory of Dick.
