Ionia Standard – Friday, 14 December  1883
Thomas Foulks, who went to Texas for the benefit of his health, died at Fort 
Worth in that state last Saturday.  His remains were brought home to be buried, 
his wife arriving with the same.  The funeral was held at the M. E. church of 
this place on Wednesday at 2 pm., he had been a great sufferer with that fatal 
disease, consumption.  Mr. Foulks was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
