The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, October 23, 2014


Joan L. Fountain age 73 of Ionia, passed away October 20, 2014 in Ionia.  She 
was born January 12, 1942 in Detroit.  

Joan married Daryle Fountain on November 18, 1961 in Ferndale.  She served in 
the US Army, worked as the church secretary for three local churches, and after 
retirement she worked at Disney World.  Joan was a member of the church choir 
at Lyons-Muir Church and member of the Escapees Travel Club.  She loved to bowl 
and do ceramics. 

Joan is survived by her husband of 52 years, Daryle Fountain of Ionia; son, 
Dennis (Lisa) Fountain of Ionia; grandchildren, Jessica Fountain of Ionia, 
Alexander Fountain of Ionia, and Daniel Fountain of Ionia; brother, Bob Bennett 
of Florida and sister, Judy (Bob) Dobbs of Texas.  She was preceded in death by 
her step-father and mother, John and Helen Bennett. 

Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 24, 11 a.m. at the Lyons-Muir 
Church with Pastor Bert Nelson officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday from 
5-7 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Memorial donations may be made in 
Joan’s name to the Lyons-Muir Church.
