Fowle Died Saturday at Grand Rapids. [Unreadable] friends were saddened over the death of Mrs. J.L. Fowle, which occurred early Saturday morning at the St. Mary’s hospital at Grand Rapids. Mrs. Fowle had been in poor health throughout the fall and winter. However, she had not been confined to her bed. She spent Christmas as the guest of Miss Alice Taylor. Mrs. Fowle entered to the St. Mary’s hospital Wednesday for treatment. Word received from Mrs. J.J. Fowle Friday was to the effect that her mother-in-law was doing nicely, and hoped to be home in about a week. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Fowle resided on a farm in Ronald township. They came to Ionia to live when Mr. Fowle became [unreadable lines]. Mrs. Fowle celebrated her eighty-first birthday anniversary last fall. She has been an active member of the St. John’s Episcopal church, and was also an active worker in the Women’s auxiliary of the church. Mrs. Fowle is survived by two children, a daughter, who lives in the West, and J.J. Fowle, of Battle Creek. A granddaughter, now Mrs. Glenn Burkhart, of Fowlerville, lived with Mrs. Fowle at one time. Another daughter, Mrs. John Sessions, died a number of years ago. There are several grandchildren, children of John Sessions, who resides in Lansing. She is also survived by five great grandchildren. The funeral announcement will be made later.
