Bert A. Fowler, 65, of 10124 Butler Road, Portland, died March 17 in Florida. 
Mr. Fowler was born August 19, 1921, in Cadillac, the son of Benjamin and Flora
(Jacobs) Fowler.  He married Harriet Anne Johnson June 28, 1941, in Angola, Ind.
 He served in the military during World War II and was a life member of the
Masonic Lodge of Belding.

Surviving are his wife, Harriet; one son, Bert A. Fowler Jr. of Lansing; three
daughters, Winona Smith of Saranac, Sue Ann Stump of Arizona, and Karen
Sipperley of Sunfield; one brother, Orval Fowler of Prudenceville; six
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Two sisters preceded him in
death.  Services were held March 21 at the Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, with the
Rev. Stanley Hagemeyer of the Saranac Community Church officiating.  Interment
was in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
