Michael Patrick Fowler

PEWAMO- Michael Patrick Fowler age 67, of Pewamo, passed away August 22, 2021. 
He was born February 20, 1954 in Lansing, Michigan the son of Emmit and Matilda 
(Gensterblum) Fowler.

Many years owned and operated the Oakwood Lounge in Pewamo with his wife Penny. 
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Michael was an excellent cook and enjoyed 
watching birds in his later years.He always enjoyed spending time with his 
family and friends.

Surviving Michael are his children; Tracy (Brandon) Devereaux of Big Rapids, 
Ryan (Sarah) Fowler of Muir and Nicole (Andrew) Arens of Westphalia, 
Grandchildren; Owen, Isabel, Aivery, Devereaus, Jillian and Grady Fowler, Taryn 
and Liam Schafer, Jacob, Ethan, Abigail and Joseph Arens. Mother of their 
children; Penny (Joe) Peiffer of Hubbardston. Siblings: Linda (Dane)Droste, 
Steve Fowler Patricia (Tom) Roth, Randy Fowler and Bill (Jill) Fowler, Step 
father Robert Hufnagel. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family will welcome friends to a celebration of Mike's life in a casual gather 
ing at his house, 5764 E. Charles Rd., Ionia, MI. on September 18th from 1:00 
-6:00 p.m.' to share our favorite stories, memories and laughs in remembrance of 
our dad who will be greatly missed. Those wishing may made memorial 
contributions to Ionia Community Awareness to help those fighting cancer.
