James Oscar Fox, aged 82, passed away at the Mid-Michigan Hospice House on
Monday, Nov.  24, 2008.  He was born on August 2, 1926 to the late Oscar and
Cornelia (Simon) Fox in Pewamo, Michigan.  He graduated from Portland Public
High School and was hired into Oldsmobile on January 24, 1950 and worked for 37
years retiring on March 1, 1987.  He enjoyed antique tractor shows, gardening,
reading and after retirement he became interested in fishing.

Surviving are his wife Josephine (Theis) Fox, whom he married on June 17, 1957;
son Robert (Sharon Rademacher) Fox; granddaughters Michelle and Emilee; sisters,
Connie Owen and MaryAnn Thelen, both of Portland and Wilma (Dan) Feather of
Hastings; brother-in-law, Ed (JoAnn) Theis of Portland; sisters-in-law,
Christine Smith and Rose Kolp of Westphalia and Catherine (Gerald) Haeck of
Grand Ledge and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son,
Richard Fox.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov.  26, 2008
at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Rev. Larry King presiding.  Right of
Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 2-4
and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E.  Bridge St.,
Portland.  The Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m., and a Scriptural Wake Service
will be held at 8 p.m.  For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to
the St. Patrick Boiler Fund or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, 1210 West Saginaw
St., Lansing, MI 48915 in memory of Mr. Fox.
