All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sandy Heintzelman sheintz@iserv.net January 23, 2010, 12:38 pm Portland Observer, 21 Feb 1883 Died: - At his residence in this village of congestion of the lungs Mr. Truman Fox aged 87 years 7 months and 8 days. “Grandpa” Fox was born in the state of Vermont in the year 1795, but soon moved with his parents to the state of New York, where he resided until 1825, when he came to Michigan and shortly settled in Lyons, then in its minority. He served in the war of 1812, and was on the honory pension list. He has always had a very strong and robust constitution, and a good representative of the material Great Britain found to be invincible. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss, one child having crossed the river before him. The obsequies were held at the M. E. Church last Tuesday and was attended by friends.
