Ionia County News, 2 Jun 1955

Arnold J. Fox, 51, local Kroger store manager, passed away at 4:22 a.m., Friday,
May 27, at Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids, where he had been a patient for
seventeen days, and had undergone surgery.  He had also been hospitalized for
several weeks prior to his last admittance.

Born in Lum, November 7, 1903, the son of Edmund and Mary Fox, he had been
associated with the Kroger Company for twenty-five years.  He had been a
resident in Lake Odessa for eleven years when he became manager of the local
store and had also been employed at St. Louis and Alma, and had spent five years
at the Ionia store.

He and his wife, Marguerite, celebrated their twenty-eighth wedding anniversary
several weeks ago.  Mr. Fox was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church.

Surviving besides his wife are five sisters, Sister Ann Dominic of Dearborn,
Sister Mary Cleta of Hayward, California, Mrs. Ehla Smith of Flint, Mrs. Ruth
Gilham and Mrs. Doris Sabo, both of California, and a brother, Claud, also of
California.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Edwards church, with
burial in the cemetery at Sheridan.  The Rev. Fr. Stephen Kolenic officiated.
