Lake Odess Wave
          BERT FOX 83, WAS BURIED LAST THURSDAY
   Funeral services were held for Bert Fox, 83 of South Ionia at the Methodist
church, Ionia, on Thursday afternoon with burial in the Lakeside cemetery, Lake Odessa.  
He passed away Tuesday at the Ionia County Memorial hospital after a short illness.
   Mr. Fox was a resident of the Ionia area for 77 years and one of the first
merchants in South Ionia and saw that area develop through the years, as after his 
retirement in 1948, the store has been operated by his son Arthur.  He was very active 
in the Masonic lodges and Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jersusalem and other 
activities included past master of the Sebewa Grange, served Ionia twp. as treasurer
for 31 years also treasurer of the Loomis school district for 25 years.
   Surviving are his wife;  one son;  grand and great-grandchildren and two sisters;
 Mrs. Sadie Goodemoot of Odessa and Mrs. Florence Goodemoot of Sebewa.
