FRANCIS A. FOX 1926-2016
Francis A. Fox, age 89 of Ionia passed away July 3, 2016. He was born September 12,
1926 in Ionia, MI. the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Heckman) Fox Sr.. Francis married
Alice Furman in Ionia on April 16, 1949. Francis entered the Army Infantry in 1943,
serving during WW II as a sharpshooter in the 84th Railsplitters. Francis accompanied by his
son-in-law Jim were honored to take part in the Talon's Honor flight out of Kalamazoo to
Washington, DC in April, 2015. He especially enjoyed shaking the hands of the 3400 people who
greeted the returning veterans from their trip. He loved playing golf daily and cribbage
with his wife Alice. He enjoyed mowing the golf course at Morrison Lake after his retirement from
Fisher Body of Lansing in 1986. Francis also enjoyed spending time with his family,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. The highlight of his day was his daily breakfast with his
buddies at Sheri's restaurant in Ionia.

Francis is survived by his wife; Alice Fox of Ionia, Children; Lynn (Jim) Ross of
Kalamazoo, Bruce (Linda) Fox of Ionia, Alan (Melissa) Fox of Walker, grandchildren; Joshua
(Cassie) Ross, T.J. Fox, Amy (Chad) Wells, Brenton Fox, Nick (Tiffany Dunkel) Hurd, Jessica
Pixley, Great-grandchildren; Carter, Chase, Caleb, Cole, Jaden, Nickera, Nicholas, and
Laurence, Brothers; William Fox of Ionia, Phillip fox of Ionia, Sisters; Katherine Possehn of
Lake Odessa,Elaine Moore of Lake Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents,
brothers; Joseph Jr., Robert, Richard, and Gerald.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 11, 2016 a.m. at the Lake Funeral Home
in Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Private family burial at Sunset
Memorial Gardens immediately after service. Visitations will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until
time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice,
2100 Raybrook St. SE Suite 300 Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Online condolences may be made at
