The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, date unknown
Robert Frank Fox, 92, of Ionia, passed away August 13, 2003 in Ionia.  He was 
born February 20, 1911 in Niles, the son of Herman W. and Genira (Shoemaker) 
Fox.  He would go on to marry Marcella Smith August 26, 1938.  

He worked for Fisher Body in Lansing for 30 years.  He was a member of SS 
Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia.  He was a member of the Michigan 
National Guard.  Robert was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing 
and gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marcella of Ionia; son Rod and 
Carolyn Fox of Ionia; daughter Beverly and Kenneth Garno of Palmyra, Rosemary 
Fox of Lansing; brother Herman and Marge Fox of Lansing; 25 grandchildren, 
many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and 
nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Jr., 
brother Edward Walter; sister, Mary Benson.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul 
Church with Rev. Mel Fox Celebrant.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 9 
a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.  Anyone wishing may make memorial 
contributions to American Diabetes Associations.  Envelopes available at Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia.
