She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's Society. Lilly Mae gradated from Westphalia High School Class of 1944 and she worked for three year as a bank secretary at the Westphalia State Bank. She married Norbert Fox on May 21, 1947, a marriage lasting over 72 years and he preceded her on July 30, 2019. She and Norbert enjoyed many years of singing and dancing together. She loved music, reading, genealogy, playing cards, travel, and especially the family get- togethers and the joy of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding Lilly Mae in death are her parents; husband, Norbert; infant son, John; brother, Ronald Spitzley; and sister, Dolores Spitzley. Surviving are her 5 children, Ronald (Phyllis) Fox,Terry (Paula) Fox, Carol (Randy) Schafer, David (Vickie) Fox, and Kevin (Lori) Fox; grandchildren, Allison (Matt) Whitfield, Kyle (Aryn) Fox,Chad (Amy) Schafer, Eric Fox,Bethany Fox, Travis Fox, Brenda Fox, Amber (Randy) Cusack, Jason Fox, and Austin Fox; 10 great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, Michelle (Todd) Wurster and Joseph (Monica) Kelsey; and three step-great-grandchildren. A special thank you is given to Fairview AFC and neighbors, Paul and Beth Smith and Scott and Lynn Strong for the wonderful care and compassion they have given to Lily Mae and her family. The Mass of Cristian Burial will be celebrated August 7, 2021 at St.Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St.Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 4-7 p.m with a rosary being prayed at 3:30 p.m. at the St.Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. For those wishing, contributions may be made at the Westphalia Historical Society or the Fr. AL Miller Trust Fund in memory of Lilly Mae. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
