Ionia County News - Thursday - Dec. 22, 1932

Mrs. Elizabeth Fox, wife of the late Herrick Fox and one of the pioneer 
residents of Odessa township, died Sunday at the home of her son, Albert Fox, 
in South Ionia following a lingering illness of several years duration.

Mrs. Fox was born in Macomb county 77 years ago and at the age of 17 moved with 
her parents to Trufant. Here she met and married Herrick Fox.

the couple came to Ionia county and settled in Odessa township about 45 years 
ago. Mr. Fox died three years ago. 

Mrs. Fox was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church of Lake Odessa and was 
active in the affairs of the Home and Foreign Missionary society of that 
church, serving as president for several years.

She is survived by one son, Albert, of Ionia; and two daughters, Mrs. Florence 
Goodemoot and Mrs. Sarah Goodemoot of Lake Odessa. There are also 12 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren

Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Stebbins Chapel with Rev. A. T. 
Luther officiating, assisted by Rev. M. W. Duffy. Interment was in Lakeside 
cemetery at Lake Odessa.
