The Portland Observer, Thursday, January 1, 1914

Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Franks attended the funeral of Miss Mable Franks, the 18-
year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Franks, at Sunfield Friday.  The 
young lady was taken ill about three weeks ago and failed steadily, typhoid-
pneumonia having been the cause of her death.  Rev. A. E. Wynn, of the 
Sunfield M.E. church, conducted the funeral service.  Mr. and Mrs. Franks, the 
bereaved parents, were residents of Sebewa township until a few years ago and 
have a host of friends in this vicinity who will share with them in their 
sorrow.
