With the death of Andrew Franks, who passed away Saturday morning at the ripe 
old age of 83 years, Sebewa loses one of its oldest and most highly esteemed 
pioneer residents.  Mr. Frank was born in Ohio, April 4, 1841, and was united 
in marriage to Julia Shannon, October 1, 1863, residing in Ohio until 1876 
when they came to Michigan and settled in Sebewa.

Besides the widow three daughters and two sons survive.  They are Mrs. Mary 
Turner, John Franks and Mrs. Clara Oatley, of Mesick, Orin Franks and Mrs. 
Florence Cassel, of Portland.  Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Barbara Brough 
and Mrs. Samanthy Gilbert, both of Ohio.  He also leaves 17 grandchildren and 
18 great-grandchildren.
