The Ionia Sentinel, Wednesday, June 7, 1882

Mr. Ezra Frank desires us to make a correction of the item about the scarlet 
fever cases at Prairie Creek.  He states that instead of the Bedell children 
taking the disease from his (Frank’s) children, one of whom died, that both 
the Franks and Bedell children took it from the children of Mrs. Neil, 
formerly Mrs. Palk Place, who were visiting in the family of W. D. Place.

Subsequent Publication:  Monday, June 19, 1882

The infant child of Mr. Ezra Franks, of Prairie Creek died on Friday with 
scarlet fever.
