The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, May 19, 1960

Ernest A. Franks, 74, route one, died early Thursday morning at Ionia County 
Memorial hospital where he had been a patient one week.  Mr. Franks was a 
decorator by trade.

He was born August 9, 1885 and with the exception of 17 years had lived all 
his life in his home at Prairie Creek.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra 
Franks.  September 12, 1937, he was married to Mary Miller, who died in 1954.  

Mr. Franks was a member of the Zion Evangelical United Brethren church.

Funeral service will be held at the Myers funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m.  The 
Rev. Ray R. Fassett will officiate and interment will be at Oakhill cemetery.

Funeral service for Ernest A. Franks, 74, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers 
funeral home.  Mr. Franks who resided on route one, died early Thursday in 
Ionia County Memorial hospital.  The Rev. Ray R. Fassett, pastor of the Zion 
Evangelical United Brethren church officiated and burial was at Oakhill 
cemetery.

Honorary bearers were John Gates, Fred Waters, Homer Mann, Herman Lemke, Oren 
Schmidt and Rev. A. R. Kuehn.  Active bearers were Floyd Bates, Donald Bates, 
Bill Hickok, Tim Fenn, Jerold Fassett and David Hedrick.
