The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 1, 1969
Mrs. Ethel V. Franks, 81, of 345 Lookingglass Avenue, Portland, died at her 
home Saturday.  She was born in Edmore, August 3, 1888 and came to Portland as 
a girl.  She was the widow of Orrin Franks.  

Surviving are four sons, Walter and Dale of Lansing, Clarence and Andrew of 
Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Adabelle Irwin and Mrs. Della Messer of Grand 
Ledge; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.   

Funeral services will be Tuesday t 1 p.m. at  Neller funeral home in 
Portland.  Rev. Maurice Christenson of Portland Baptist church will officiate 
and interment will be at Portland cemetery.  Bearers will be Gary Franks, 
Walter G. Franks Jr., Robert Sims, and Roger Taylor.
