Freeman died at his residence in Lyons, at 1:35 this morning, in his 77th year. Mr. Freeman was well known here. He was one of the pioneers of Ionia county, having settled on Long Plain, in the township of Ronald, somewhere about 40 years ago. In 1865, he moved to this city, but a few years later changed his place of residence to Lyons, where he remained until his death. He was twice married. His second wife survives him. By the first marriage he was the father of Hon. F. S. Freeman, of this place, Wm. H. Freeman, of Lyons, and Frederick J. Freeman, of Marcelona. One daughter by the second marriage also survives him. She is now a young lady of 17. His last illness was of about four weeks’ duration, and he was a great sufferer. During his long residence in the county he had made a very wide acquaintance, and was generally esteemed. The funeral services will be from his late residence in Lyons on Thursday morning, at 10 o’clock, Rev. J. Pierson officiating.
