The Ionia Standard, Friday, March 12, 1909

The sad news is received of the death of Miss Winnifred Freeman, Wednesday 
evening at 4:30 o’clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bloomer, Holland, 
where she went about a month ago.  She was taken with peritonitis shortly 
after arriving there, and suffered acutely for three weeks before the final 
end.  Remains arrived here on 3:30 train this afternoon.  Mrs. Edward Bloomer 
was called to Ionia about a week ago, on account of the serious illness from 
pneumonia, of her mother, Mrs. John Norton.
