Freeman, 89, died Monday about 4:15 p.m. at her home 152 East Washington street after a long illness. She was born May 4, 1857, in Rockford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Worden. She was married to Alonzo O. Freeman, January 1, 1875 in Ionia. She came to Ionia at the early age of 12 with her parents and has lived here nearly all her life except a few years after her marriage when she lived in Pewamo. Her husband died May 5, 1924. She was a member of the Baptist church and other organizations of the church as long as her health permitted. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Phelps and Mrs. Edna Smith of Ionia; a son, Glenn A. Freeman, of Lansing; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Stone funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W.L. Cruthers officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.
