Mr. Edward Freeman was actively and successfully engaged in farming, and was in the prime of life, being only 42 when he died. He had been feeling unwell during the last day and evening of his life, and when he retired at night, his wife laid down dressed, so as to be able to attend to him if he called for her. About two o’clock in the morning she was alarmed by a peculiar noise he made in breathing and the purplish appearance of his face. Medical aid was at once summoned, but before the doctor arrived he was dead. An autopsy held on Friday showed that his death was caused by disease of the heart. He was very generally respected. The above obituary is taken from the Livingston, (N. Y.,) Republican of a recent issue, and will be sad news to Mr. Freeman’s many friends in this vicinity, he having resided in this township a number of years, living prior to his removal to New York, on the Bunker farm, two miles west of this village. He was here a few weeks ago, and seemed to be in the best of health.
