Perry was believed to have been instantly killed when the tractor he was operating on his father’s farm tipped over on him, pinning him beneath it. A passing motorist, Glenn Densmore of Hastings, noticing the position of the tractor and upon investigation, found the body, notifying the family and authorities. At the time of the accident the father was ill at the home of his brother, J. P. Freeman and the mother has been a patient at the Howell Sanitarium for 2-1/2 years. Mrs. Freeman was brought home Friday night. Perry Freeman was born June 22, 1925, and graduated this June from the Lowell high school where he was active on the football and basketball teams. The funeral services were held from the Roth Chapel Monday at 2: p.m. with the Rev. F. E. Chamberlain of Alto Methodist Church officiating and burial was in South Boston cemetery. The pallbearers were Vercil Bovee, George Wittenbach, Wayne Wilcox, Roy Webster, Walter Gumser, Jr., and Richard Warner; honorary bearers were Glen Ray Rittenger, Robert Cahoon, Jerald Roth and Clifford Klumpp. The survivors left to mourn their loss besides the parents, are several uncles and aunts and many other relatives and a host of friends, all of whom join in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
