The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 23, 1936

Miss Elsie French died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Jennie Moulton, Rich 
street, Saturday evening from the effects of a stroke suffered eight weeks ago.

Miss French was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. French, of Morley.  For 
many years she was matron of the dormitory at Belding.  After its close she 
went to California and six years ago came to live with Mrs. Moulton.

Remaining relatives are three brothers, Warren of Traverse City, Charles of 
Olivet, Ira C. of Morley, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Moulton of Ionia.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at one o’clock at the residence, 
with Rev. M. W. Duffey and Rev. E. J. Nest officiating.  Burial was in the 
Morley cemetery.
