French, 73, of 733 North Jefferson St., died about midnight Wednesday at the home of his son, Andrew in Saginaw where he had been visiting the past 10 days. He was born in Shiawassee county October 28, 1886, the son of Andrew and Sara Thomas French. In 1908 he was married in Owosso to Jennie May Muzzy and had resided in Ionia the past 48 years. Mrs. French died in October 1956. Mr. French was a self-employed carpenter. He at one time worked for Pere Marquette car shop, also Glenn Pierce construction company. He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Surviving are two sons, Andrew of Saginaw and Fred, Jr.; of Lansing; four daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Obrien of Ligonier, Ind., Mrs. Thelma Brimmer and Mrs. Doris Sprague of Saranac, and Mrs. Theo Clark of Ionia; one brother Elmer of Wall lake; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Chipperfield of Owosso; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Tentative funeral plans are set for Saturday at Boynton funeral home at 2 p.m. with interment at Easton cemetery.
