Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Apr 1964

Luie Albert French, 60, of route two, died at 10 o’clock Saturday night at Ionia
County Memorial hospital.  He was a resident of Ionia county 25 years, coming
here from Grand Rapids.  He was born in Matherton, September 7, 1903, the son of
George W. and Gertrude Reed French, and was married November 3, 1939 to Elma
Carter at Harrison.  Mr. French was a member of Seventh-day Adventist church 24
years and was employed as sexton at Tuttle cemetery since 1957.

Surviving are his wife, Elma; one daughter, Mrs. Dora Randall of Ionia; five
grandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. Harriet French of Alpena; two half-sisters,
Mrs. Thelma Powell of Hillman and Mrs. Norine Froberg of Alpena.

Funeral service will be conducted at Stone-Kauffman Funeral home at 2 o’clock
Wednesday afternoon with burial at Tuttle cemetery.  Elder Donald D. Stephans
will officiate.
