Ionia Standard, 23 & 30 May 1890

News was received here on Tuesday, of the death at Johnson City, Tenn., of Will
H., son of George W. French.  The deceased was but 21 years old, an affable
young gentleman, and his early death will be generally and deeply deplored at
Muir, where he was well liked by all.  The funeral will take place on Saturday,
at 2 p.m., from the family residence at Muir.

The funeral of William French was largely attended on Friday and much sorrow was
everywhere shown for the untimely death of so popular a young man.
