Eleanor A. Freund, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996.  She was born Jan. 1, 
1914, the daughter of William and Otila (Simmon) Fedewa.  She was a member of 
St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Erwin; three sons, Dale (Mary) of Jackson, 
Roger (Carol) of Pewamo, and Gerald (Sally) of Portland; seven grandchildren; 
three great-grandchildren; brother, Celester Fedewa of Fowler; and two 
sisters, Geneva Thelen of Pewamo and Frances Frechen of Fowler.  She was 
preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Anita; and grandson, Nicholas.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church, 106 East Street in Pewamo, with the Rev. Charlon O. Mason, 
pastor, officiating.  The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic 
Cemetery.  

Friends may call at the St. Mary’s Chapel, 201 N. Westphalia Street in 
Westphalia, beginning Monday at 11 a.m., where the family will receive friends 
from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the Rosary will be prayed 
at 3 p.m. and at 8 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis 
Foundation, Michigan Chapter, 929 Beech Street, Lansing, 48912; or the 
American Cancer Society, 416 Frandor, Suite 104, Lansing 48912.  The family is 
being served by the Gorsline-Runciman Co., Neller Chapel.
