Friedman, 82, of 2666 Webb Street, Detroit, died Saturday, July 12, at Harper Hospital in Detroit. Born in Detroit, he started his career in merchandising in Belding and Hudson, Michigan. Returning to Detroit, he founded the Federal Textile Company from which he retired 25 years ago. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Detroit Lodge; Belding Lodge No. 355, F&AM; the Elks Lodge of Ionia, and was past treasurer of Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Surviving are his wife, Mary; and two brothers, former Wayne County Circuit Court Judge William Friedman, and Henry. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 14, at the Ira Kauffman Chapel in Detroit. Burial was in the Clover Hill Park in Detroit.
