Ionia Sentinel Standard, 26 Oct 1974

Mrs. Lucille V. Friend, 59, of 302 East Lincoln died Friday afternoon at the 
Sheridan Community hospital where she had been a patient four weeks.

Born at Ft. Francis, Ontario, Canada, July 2, 1915, she was the daughter of 
Lewis and Mildred Jacobson Marshall and came to the United States when a 
child.  She lived at Alpena until the family moved to Detroit where she 
graduated from high school.

She made her home in Detroit until coming to Ionia in 1959 where she worked as 
a waitress and more recently at Amway Corporation until her ill health.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Mildred Dalton of Ionia; brother, John Marshall 
of Phoenix, Ariz., two sisters, Mrs. Elaine Meth and Mrs. Betty Rymazs, both of 
Detroit.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home.  Rev. 
Charles Fullmer of the First United Methodist church will officiate and 
interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.  Family will be at 
the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
