MRS. MINA FRIEND
CLARKSVILLE - Mrs. Mina Friend, 94, of 13222 Bell road, route 1, Lake Odessa, died 
Thursday at Kent Community hospital in Grand Rapids after being a patient three
weeks.

She had been confined to Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids three weeks before
being transferred to the Kent hospital. Previously she had spent five weeks at the
Provincial House in Hastings.

Born at Carlton Center, Barry county, November 3, 1881, she was the daughter of
Lafayette and Mary E. Yarder Knowles and had lived at Carlton Center until 1902 when she moved
to her present address.

December 23, 1899, she was married to Francis F. Friend who died September 14,
1940.

Among her survivors are two sons, Russell K. of Bell road and Dayton F. of Portland;
seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frances Allerding of Hastings.

Services will be Saturday at 1:30 at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel at
Clarksville. Rev. Chalmer Miller will officiate and interment will be at the Clarksville cemetery.
