Dec. 11, 2013 Belding- Carl W. Frisbie, 83, of Belding, died Sunday evening Dec. 8, 2013, at Spectrum Health in Greenville. Carl was born on April 8, 1930, near Belding in Kent County, the son of Clarence and Bessie (Sampson) Frisbie. Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Carl had a life long love of music, especially playing the guitar. For many years, he played at weddings and local bars. Carl also enjoyed hunting and the many trips to Alaska. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Shiloh Community Church and the American Legion Post 203 of Belding where he served on the honor guard. Carl will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was married on May 3, 1953, to Carolyn Keilholtz, and he preceded him in death along with his parents; two brothers, Donald and Henry and two sisters, Alta and Mildred. Carl later married Jacqueline Fox on Nov. 9, 1997. Carl is loved and survived by his wife, Jacqueline and his children, Jon and Gail Frisbie of Wasilla, Alaska, Gary and Connie Frisbie of Middleville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two sisters, Marjorie and Jack Pretzel of Lowell and Charlene and Harold Stricker of Stanton. In keeping with is wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Shiloh Community Church with pastor Ken Harger officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour before the service. Full military honors will be given by the Belding VFW and American Legion. Burial will take place later at Otisco Township Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Shiloh Community Church or the American Legion Post 203 of Belding. Envelopes will be available at the service and at Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Messages of condolence may be given at www.jffh.com.
