Portland – Death of a Pioneer

Isaiah G. Frost died at his residence in Danby yesterday morning, aged 77 
years.  Over four years ago he was prostrated by paralysis from which he never 
fully recovered, and his death now is the result of that attack.  Mr. Frost was 
one of the first settlers in the county, and formerly was prominent in official 
position in the township of Portland and Danby, and also as county treasurer in 
Ionia.  His funeral under the care of Portland lodge, F. & A. M. was held at 
the M. E. church on Sunday afternoon at two o’clock.
