Lafayette W. Frost Dead

Lafayette W. Frost died at his home on East Main street at 5:30 this morning, 
after a comparatively brief illness and having attained the ripe age of 72 
years, 11 months and 10 days.

Deceased was a good citizen – an industrious, hard-working, honest man.  He was 
born at Waterford, Maine, August 29, 1825.  He was married to Catharine R. 
Standley, at Lowell, Mass., on July 1, 1851.  He came to Ionia in October 1844, 
and made this city his home ever since.  By dint of his industry he was enabled 
to secure a good home to live and die in, and he lived for more than forty 
years on the place where he died.  This residence was continuous, with the 
exception of one year, about 1859, which he spent in California.

The wife, and one son, Charles, are the sole survivors of the immediate family.

For nearly twenty-five years was he a worthy member of the M. E. church, and 
was four years the church sexton.

The funeral will be attended from the late home at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday.
