Portland Observer, 17 Apr 1913

Mrs. Orson V. Frost, a resident of Portland township all of her life, died at 
her home north of town last Friday afternoon, following a long illness.  Her 
maiden name was Calista H. Maynard, she being a daughter of the late James F. 
and Martha R. Maynard, of Portland, and was born Dec. 18, 1852.  On Dec. 22, 
1875 she was married to Orson V. Frost, who, with a son, Harry, survives.  
Gardner Maynard is a brother of deceased.  Funeral services were held at the 
late home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. W. Slee, of the M. E. church.  
Rev. D. E. Millard assisting him at the grave.  Mrs. Frost was well known in 
Portland and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.  She had been 
in ill health for many years.
