Lois (Pat) E. Fry, 73, of Ionia formerly of Holt, passed away June 28, 2001 at
her home after a long battle with cancer.  She was born Jan. 25, 1928 in
Lansing, the daughter of Valentine and Esther (Brooks) Ruthig.  She went on to
marry Douglas Fry on Aug. 14, 1946.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Douglas Fry; son, Terry Fry of
Saranac; daughters, Deborah (Maynard) Baer of Hamilton, Mont., and Katherine
(Paul) Holland of Ionia; seven grandchildren, Wendy (Jay) Hobbs of Lowell, Angie
(Chris) Sprank of Saranac, Dan (Jessica) Drown of Ionia, Amber Fry of Saranac,
Alexandria Fry and Mykenzie Holland of Ionia; four great-grandsons; and eight
step-children.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother,
William Ruthig.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fry will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday at the Lake
Funeral Home in Ionia with Chaplain John Kirkman officiating.  Interment Saranac
Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.,
Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing may make
memorial contributions to Hospice of Grand Rapids or the American Cancer Society.
