Baseline Hwy., Olivet, MI, celebrated his going home to be with Jesus, Our Lord, and Savior on Sept. 29, 2001 at his home on Pine Lake. David was born Nov. 30, 1934 at home in Lake Odessa, MI, the son of Carlton Arunuh and Frances (Darling) Fuller and had been an Olivet resident since 1959. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1952 with many awards in sports. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1952, serving in Germany for about 2 years where he earned the Army of Occupation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He also served on the U.S. Army Basketball Team winning games in Europe. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Western Michigan in 1959 majoring in industrial arts and physical education/coaching receiving a permanent teaching certificate (secondary education) in 1959. He taught industrial arts and coached all sports at Olivet High School for 30 years. He was a member of the Olivet First Assembly of God and it’s Men’s Fellowship Group, was a member of the 700 Club, the American Center for Law and Justice, supported Family Life Radio and the Billy Graham Crusade, had served as song leader at Nashville Baptist Church for 17 years, was a member of the Promise Keepers and enjoyed traveling. Was married to Judith Altenhein Hollenbeck on July 29, 1967 at the Olivet Congregational Church by Dr. Morris Boucher. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Judith; six children, Karen Sue Peterson of San Antonio, TX, Daniel Lynn (Sylvia) Fuller of Battle Creek, Christine Hollenbeck of Ovid, Sheila Beth Terry of Helendale, CA, Eric David (Tracy) Fuller of Olivet and Erin Judith (Gregory) Bliss of Olivet; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Marc and Hannah Petersen, Jeremy and Jaime Fuller, Rebekah and Daniel Gibson, Rainey Hare, Christopher Terry and Cameron David Fuller; brother, Robert Eugene (Patricia) Fuller of Hastings and sister, Carlene (Clifford) Shooltz of Dewitt. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at the Olivet First Assembly of God with Rev. Douglas Hammond officiating.
