He was using a pike pole to get some logs in position for hauling them out of the tank with the grappling hooks when in some manner he slipped and fell headlong over the edge of the tank into the seething mass of water. The splash was heard by Wm. Wright and Mr. Eberhard who rushed to his assistance just as he was coming to the surface and both grappled the unfortunate man and pulled him out. He was at once taken to the engine room where his clothes were changed and a hack called to take him home. Drs. Stanton and Little were summoned and found him very badly scalded on all parts of the body and also having inhaled considerable steam and hot water into his mouth and lungs. They at once concluded he could not survive the shock and after lying in great suffering until about eight o’clock in the evening he passed away, having kissed his family and bidden them goodby before lapsing into unconsciousness, knowing that he could not live. He leaves a wife and eight children, five boys and three girls, and came here about a year ago from a farm near Howard City. The funeral will be held at the home Friday afternoon and the remains taken to Coral for burial. Mr. Fuller carried a life insurance of $1,000 in the Ben Hur order. An inquest will be held with a coroner’s jury before E. B. Lapham. A purse of one hundred dollars was made up among factory men and others for the immediate relief of the grief stricken family.
