Ionia Sentinel Standard, 12 Aug 1986

Clara A. Furman, 80, 957 N. State Road, Ionia, died Monday in Ionia County
Memorial Hospital.  She was born May 20, 1906 in Harrison, the daughter of
William and Vila Sturgis Pearson.  She married Douglas Furman June 7, 1924 in
Ionia, and they lived here their entire married life.  He preceded her in death
April 29, 1986.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Swain of Sheridan and Alice M. Fox of
Ionia; four sons, Ralph of Muir, Albert of Saranac and Cecil and Gordon of
Ionia; 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are one
sister, Georgania Hathon of Vernon and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Montgomery-Leddick Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Burial will be in the Easton
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home today from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30
p.m.
