HENRY GABLE DIES HERE ON WEDNESDAY
Henry Gable, 91, Route 4, Ionia, died at his home Wednesday morning, September 23.

Mr. Gable was born May 20, 1868 and attended the LeValley School north of Ionia on
M-66. He lived during his early life across the road from the school on the property that
is now owned by Tony Raterink.

At the age of 23 he married Minnie E. Page and she preceded him in death on March 9,
1947. They had celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on November 18, 1941.

He began his career as a farmer later hiring out as a plumbers helper to a Belding
firm. He then went into partnership with R.J. Breckon in the plumbing business, who later
sold his interest to Mr. Gable. Their plumbing business was started across the street from
the Centre Theatre, later moving across the street, where he continued his business
until his retirement in 1931.

After his retirement, Mr. Gable lived on his farm south of Ionia until his death.

Surviving him are two children; Glenn Gable of Ionia and Mrs. Neta Erridge, Route 4,
Ionia; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25 at 2:00 p.,.at the Myers Funeral
Home with Rev. Court O. Adams, formerly of the First Christian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Balcom Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Thursday, September 24, from 7 until 10 p.m.
to receive friends and relatives.
